Day 1: Arrival in Lima
When you arrive from your flight our local guide will be waiting to take you to the Casa Andina Premium Miraflores. You’ll have the rest of the afternoon and evening to explore this cosmopolitan capital before flying north to Trujillo the following day.

Day 2: Lima – Chachapoyas
Transfer to the airport for a flight from Lima to Chachapoyas, a hidden gem in Northern Peru. Upon arrival, visit the quaint village of Huancas, renowned for its traditional pottery. Learn about artisan techniques to create ceramics and the region’s cultural heritage.
Travel to Casa de Doña Lola, a property with significant reforestation efforts. Take a guided walk learn about the importance of preserving the natural environment. Dinner here, offering a taste of regional cuisine.

Day 3: Mausoleum of Revash & Leymebamba
Journey into the history of the Chachapoyas civilization. Visit the Mausoleum of Revash, a remarkable funerary site perched high in the cliffs. These ancient tombs are are a unique architectural style.
Next head to the mummy Museum of Leymebamba, home to over 200 mummies discovered in the region. Glimpse fascinating insights into the burial traditions and beliefs of the Chachapoyas people. Following a day of exploration, return to Casa de Doña Lola for dinner and Stay.

Day 4: Kuelap Fortress & Colibri Refuge
A real highlight, visit Kuelap Fortress, a majestic archaeological site. It is often referred to as the “Machu Picchu of the North.” The mountaintop fortress has thick stone walls and features intricate stonework. Kuelap is known as the city of the Cloud Warriors. This mysterious hilltop site was inhabited from 1000–1400 AD; shrouded by misty cloud forest it has captured the attention of archaeologist’s and adventurous travellers in recent years. In the afternoon, visit the Colibri Refuge in Cocachimba. This peaceful area is home to diverse bird species, including the beautiful hummingbirds. Learn about local conservation efforts and the significance of preserving native wildlife.

Day 5: Gocta Falls Hike
Take a scenic hike through dense forests to reach the impressive Gocta Falls. Only recently discovered, considered the third highest waterfall (771 metres) in the world. Along the trail, observe the lush flora and fauna that inhabit the area. Our guide will point out wildlife, including tropical birds and even some monkeys. The nature hike leads to a majestic view of the cascading waterfall.

Day 6: Chachapoyas to Chiclayo
Take a private transfer from Chachapoyas to the coastal town of Chiclayo. This is a scenic drive passes from mountains to coastal plains. No guide today, allowing time for reflection as the scenery unfolds to reveal Peru’s northern coast. Wander around the city and the colourful market. You can find all manner of things here from woven hat and baskets to potions used to restore your health.

Day 7: Royal Tombs of Sipán & Artistic Experience
Visit the renowned Museum of the Royal Tombs of Sipán. This houses extraordinary artifacts from the Moche civilization. This includes the famous Lord of Sipán tomb, the ‘Tutankhamun’ of Peru. Our guide will explain the significance of these ancient treasures. The tombs belonging to the Lord of Sipan was only discovered in 1987.
Later, enjoy a batik workshop with artist Julian Bravo. This hands-on experience allows for personal creativity and connection with the local culture.

Day 8: Chiclayo – Trujillo, El Brujo Complex
We continue our journey along the coast, traveling to the historic city of Trujillo. From here our guides will help you learn more about the city as well as visiting some of the best pre-Inca sites in the nearby desert. Along the way, we stop at the El Brujo archaeological complex, a site dating back to the Moche culture. Here is the well-preserved mummy of the Lady of Cao. Learn about the site’s significance in understanding ancient ceremonial practices.

Day 9: Pyramids of the Sun and Moon & Cultural Workshops
Visit the pyramids of the Sun and Moon, built from millions of adobe bricks this is the largest pre-Columbian structure in South America. This was the ceremonial centres of the Moche civilization. Our guide will unravel the mysteries of these monumental adobe structures. Take time to study the remarkable murals that decorate the walls.
In the afternoon, partake in a music and ceramic workshop. Los Hermanos Garcia group will share traditional techniques. The rhythms have been passed down through generations.

Day 10: Huaca Dragon, Huanchaco & Chan Chan
Visit the Huaca Dragon a small but intricately carved restored pyramid associated with the Chimu culture. Travel to Huanchaco, a coastal village famous for its traditional reed fishing boats, known as caballitos de totora. Then visit Chan Chan, the largest adobe city in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Chan Chan was the ancient capital of the Chimu Empire.
In the afternoon, enjoy a Paso horse show, watch the elegant movements of these iconic Peruvian horses.

Day 11: Trujillo City Tour
Take a guided city tour of Trujillo, exploring its colonial architecture, lively squares, and historic churches. Trujillo has a rich cultural heritage, blending pre-Columbian, colonial, and modern influences. In the afternoon, enjoy some free time to relax or explore the city on your own.

Day 12: Trujillo to Lima
Today, we transfer to the airport for a domestic flight back to Lima. No guide on this leg, allowing for quiet reflection on the journey and rich history of Northern Peru. Connectr with onward flight home
